Description

The epic conclusion to the Bokurano Daiboukenn series. As hero and mayor it is your task to protect your town, which by now has evolved into a large city and has set up a crystal mining operation. This becomes difficult when an attack of monsters at a school turns out to be the front for powerful enemies who demand that you give up all your crystal to them. You set out on a journey to defeat them, however the risks will prove dangerous not just to you but to your friends, and what seems a simple mission will rapidly become so much more.

This combines the best features of Bokurano Daiboukenn 1 and 2 into an action-packed side-scrolling RPG. It retains the same menu structure as Bokurano Daiboukenn 2 in that you select stages to play successively , but many other things have changed. First of all, platforming and climbing elements have been added. Whereas Bokurano Daiboukenn 2 was a simple flat plain, Bokurano Daiboukenn 3 has ladders, gaps you can jump over, and multi-level playing fields that are much larger than those found in the previous game. You can use a camera to examine the playing field, as well as several object views to make finding your way easier.

The statistics system from the first game returns in a more advanced form. Each enemy you defeat gives you experience, and when you level up, you can distribute points among 5 statistics, HP, stamina, attack, defense and tech. You start out earning only 10 points to distribute each level, but as you rise in rank, you eventually start earning more.

As in the previous game, there are many weapons to equip ranging from bats and swords to lasers and guns. Some have amunition, others take energy to use. Each is unique having it's own attack modifiers, multipliers and special features. Your tech statistic determines which weapons you can equip. Items are now split into categories. Normal items are things like recovery items and permanent statistic boosters. Strategy items are generally things that more directly affect the level, such as items that damage the enemy, temporary power, defense and speed boosters, etc. Damaging items can often be thrown at various angles, to take out airborn enemies. There are even stages where you will battle alongside an ally, and there are recovery items you can use on them as well.

.With 25 levels each split into a number of sub levels, huge and devastating bosses each of which will take stratogy to defeat, and a complex interlocking story as well as a dip and rich combat system, this is absolutely treat for fans of rpgs and side scrolling adventures alike.

Our great adventure 3, the English translation

Though the game can be played in it's original Japanese, a large amount of effort has been put into translating the entire game, including all story sequences, items, levels and even minigames into English. This project has taken a lot of work and is a great way to bring this classic to the attention of English speaking gamers without the need of having to use complex software or coping with the inequities of Google translator. Unfortunately, all this effort means that the dictionary for translating the game isn't free, though the five dollar cost is used to maintain the translation, improve readability and keep the server running, and it also covers all updates of the game as well. You can visit This page to buy the translation

Playing in the original Japanese

If you would prefer to use google translate or similar methods to read the original Japanese, as is necessary with other Japanese titles (including the previous two Bokurano Daiboukenn games), Ian read has written the Jgt Nvda addon see the instructions here to make the process a little easier.

Further Instructions on what software is required to translate and play the game and how to use it can be found Here in Bladestorm and Fabig94's guide on Japanese audiogames

One of the most complex of all audiogames, yet one with addictive and compelling gameplay, rich sounds and music and a diverse range of enemies, this is definitely highly recommended.
